Lip Reading
The class is divided into pairs. With more advanced levels you can instruct the "speaker" for each pair to tell the "listener" the general theme of what he is going to say. With less advanced classes you can prepare a written text so the student can concentrate on pronunciation without having to think about what they will say. *
In general the text should only be one or two sentences long - at least until the class becomes more proficient with this!
The "speaker" then mouths the text - silently of course. They must mouth each word carefully and slowly as the "listener" tries to work out what is being said. After the "speaker" has said their piece the "listener" has to repeat it back to them. The "speaker" can help here, but it is important that they do not make any sound when they do so.
