Help:Introduction to Editors
From TEFL World Wiki
Before editing any pages on the ICAL wiki, you should also make sure to read this page thoroughly. It explains a few basic principles.
- Try and keep any changes factual rather than anecdotal or emotional.
- Existing pages are there to be built on rather than replaced. In other words, you are free to amend a page and expand on its content but do not please completely replace an existing article with another you have written.
- Feel free to make as many changes as you wish. This includes adding occasional facts or changes here and there. There's no need to only make major changes!
- Use impersonal pronouns such as they, their, themself and themselves rather than gender specific pronouns.
- Whenever possible try and link text to relevant existing wiki articles.
- Any external links should go under == Useful Links == at the end of the article.
- We tend to use British English spelling but it's not compulsory.
Tip: take the time to see how the existing Free-ESL TEFL Wiki articles are laid out to get a feel for the right format.
