France - TEFL in France
Like all European Union countries, it's hard for non-EU citizens to get work here. You will need a CELTA or TESL/TEFL Certificate (e.g. the ICAL TEFL Certificate) for almost every job and a degree is essential for any but the most basic position. Speaking a little French is an advantage though not essential.
Schools
If you want to work in a school, mostly this will mean teaching business English (meaning teaching things such as negotiation, telephone English, communication skills, meetings, presentations and so on).
Wages start at 15-30 Euros an hour which is fairly low. You should also check if this is gross as social security can mean you lose up to 20% from this figure.
Another problem with working in a school is the hours. You'll be expected to work evenings and weekends and if you're teaching business, you may well be required to travel to different companies across town for in-house training. (Check if this is paid or not!)
Methods
France is fairly backward when it comes to EFL teaching. You'll often find that your students will expect traditional/dull grammar/translation type activities and there may be some resistance to more modern methods.
